KODECET
The KODECET project is a groundbreaking initiative shaping the future of education. Funded by the ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE program, we’re a consortium of leading universities from Finland, Austria, India, and Thailand. Our mission is to integrate Sustainable and Circular Economy (SACE) principles into higher education curricula across Asia and Europe.
Our Vision
We envision a world where educational systems empower individuals to drive the global shift towards sustainable and circular economies.
Our Mission
KODECET is committed to developing and delivering comprehensive educational resources on SACE. These resources will equip new faculty members, students, and early-stage professionals with the knowledge and skills to excel in and promote SACE principles.
At the heart of our strategy lie four Digi-SUSTEACH centers established at partner universities in India and Thailand. These centers serve as hubs for SACE education, offering open-source courses and a wealth of learning materials accessible to a global audience. By leveraging the advanced expertise of European universities, we aim to build capacity in Asian institutions. This strengthens their roles in both education and industry, fostering a global movement towards a circular economy.
KODECET specifically targets Asian economies that face a shortage of SACE expertise. With growing industries, countries like India and Thailand need skilled workers to transition towards circular models and meet national and global sustainability goals. This aligns with the “China plus one” strategy by foreign businesses, which identifies these countries as key industrializing regions. Building on the extensive SACE knowledge developed in European countries like Finland, Netherlands, and Austria since 2015, KODECET facilitates knowledge exchange for capacity building in Asia. This collaboration benefits both continents:
Asia: Universities in India and Thailand will gain access to cutting-edge SACE knowledge and resources through our four Digi-SUSTEACH centers. These centers will provide three comprehensive courses with open-source materials in booklet and video formats. Additionally, KODECET will train 20 faculty members, enroll over 120 students, and organize a HACKATHON with 80 participants to foster university-business collaboration. This knowledge will then be disseminated to other universities, colleges, and businesses, creating a lasting impact.
Europe: By collaborating with esteemed Asian counterparts, European universities will gain valuable insights into the unique challenges and opportunities presented by Asian economies. This collaborative exchange fosters a deeper understanding of the global sustainability landscape, equipping all partners to better address these issues.
We invite educational institutions, industry stakeholders, and students from around the globe to join us on this transformative journey. Together, we can drive the advancement of sustainable and circular economies, creating a better future for all.
